Diamond Size Chart

Diamonds carat size chart in mm

It is impossible for anyone to accurately determine whether a diamond is larger or smaller without using a scale for precise measurement. Therefore, a 0.95-carat diamond will not show a significant difference in size compared to a 1-carat diamond.
Diamonds can be measured in both millimeters (mm) and carat weight. However, when purchasing loose diamonds, it is recommended to use millimeter measurements to better assess the size and get the best value within your approximate budget.
Based on Size
Fancy-shaped diamonds with longer cuts tend to appear larger and broader to the naked eye compared to round or square-shaped diamonds of similar carat weight.
Based on Length and Width
The length and width measurements directly reflect the shape of the diamond. A well-cut diamond will have specific length-to-width proportions that correspond to its carat weight, influencing how large or small it appears.
Based on the Crown Area
The crown area represents the visible top size of the diamond when viewed from above. Visually, a marquise-shaped diamond will appear larger than a round-shaped diamond when observed from its top view, despite having similar carat weights.
